So I asked one of my good friends from college to be a bridesmaid today (early, I know) and her resonse has me concerned. She basically said "yes...maybe."
Here is the background:
I wasn't sure to if she would say yes because she lives several states away and is in a time consuming school program that requires her to work some weekends. She is not attending a dear friend of our's wedding because of this. So when I asked her I said "I would love for you to be a bridesmaid for my wedding, but I understand if you can't be in it if you don't think you can get off work." That way I expressed my desire for her to be in it, but offered her an out of she didn't think she could get off school/work.
She said "I will be a bridesmaid, but I won't know if I can actually attend the wedding until a month before hand because of school/work stuff."
I honestly believe her only resonsbilitiies are bridesmaid are to wear the dress, show up, and smile in the pictures but she isn't even sure if she can be there! And I won't know until 30 days before the wedding?! I don't think that is totally reasonable, which is why I said "I understand if you can't because you might not get off work." How do I approach this?
Advice? Am I just stuck in this situation?
