Wedding Party

Questions to ask my DJ?

I am posting on here as well as where I am from just to get ideas of what I should ask the wedding DJ before I hire them. I am nervous about all of this since I want to make sure they do a great job while also being able to take care of their own.

I found Enchanted Celebrations in my area, and I am not sure how to go about asking them stuff to make sure they are the right ones. They had the most affordable prices which is why I am thinking of going with them, but I am not sure if I should base my decision solely on that aspect alone.

Re: Questions to ask my DJ?

  • I would look online for reviews and recommendations as well.  Many times if you google say "enchanted celebrations reviews" you can find some.  Our DJ was the cheapest one we found, but we also found him at a bridal show that has strict guidelines before it even allows someone at their shows.

Here's a list for you of questions I'd ask:
How long have they been in business:?
How long have their DJs worked for them? (specifically the one you'll have)
Do they also act as the emcee?
Do they allow song requests from guests?
Will they find any song you ask for before the wedding?
    How big is their playlist?
Do they allow a no-play list?

I think the first 3 questions are most important.  If they also act as the emcee then you want someone with experience so they can keep the wedding moving and know what to do in case of any little mishaps.  Our DJ was amazing and took control of the whole entrance to the reception and everything.  That's what I think is most important to look for, because you want someone who you can put your wedding in their hands and have confidence in them.

  • Just an FYI the board "Wedding Party" means "Bridal Party", not the party aspect of the wedding reception ;)
