Ring Bearer Problems!!!

My fiance has a neice and nephew, and we asked his neice to be our flower girl. The problem is his aunt thinks her brother should be our ring bearer because it isn't fair to include his sister and not him. We have a 2 year old son, and are having him as a ring bearer. I don't know how to tell her that we would rather have our son instead of his nephew! Help!!

Why don't you just have both little boys as ring bearers.

If you really don't want to do that, then I don't think there is anything wrong with having just the sister in the wedding party.

hmmmm thats tough, because of course you want your son to be ring bearer, but any child over 3 or so may feel left out that his sister gets to be involved in something that he is not. you dont mention the boys feelings, tho, it sounds more like the moms feelings are hurt, she is an adult, she should understand.

We have thought about having both of them, but we feel like if we do that we should have 2 flower girls too...

His nephew doesn't really know that difference. He is 4, but he is autistic so when he doesn't understand what our wedding is. His mom seems more upset than anyone else, my fiance's mother even understands what our thoughts are.

It doesn't if you have two ringbearers and 1 flowergirl. Everyone will just think they are cute, not care how many there are.

Would FI's nephew even be comfortable with that much attention on him?

I am having 1 ringbearer and 2 flower girls...I don't think people will have a problems with it!

Why did you include the sister and not the brother?

Is it because you are close to the girl and not the boy? Or because you just wanted to fill the flower girl role because the ring bearer role was filled by your son?

You don't HAVE to include the brother, but IMO it'd be wise to just have two ring bearers (one for each ring, what's the problem there?) and one flower girl. The flower girl/ring bearer roles are purely for show and have no significance whatsoever, when you boil right down to it.
