Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? No, but my mom, brother, and DH all have it off.

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends? I have not.  I don't think I'd do very well in the armed forces.

H was in the army for four years.  He was in the 82nd Airborne and was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.

I have multiple family and friends who have/are currently serving.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Stuffing!

What do you do on Thanksgiving? My brother comes over, and we watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  He brings me a newspaper so I can look through all of the ads for Black Friday.

This year, H and I are hosting TG so my mom and my bro's gf will come over early to help cook.  Some other family is coming over TG evening so we will probably end up playing some ping pong and Kinect (we are getting our Kinect today!)

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? Nope, but I get paid today and might have a short work day :-)

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends? I haven't- but FFIL was in the Navy and one of my uncles was in the MN National Guard

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Stuffing!

What do you do on Thanksgiving? Get together with my mom's side over at my aunt and uncle's house, and on another day get together with FI's family

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? I am an actress. There are no auditions or rehearsal today for me...therefore, I have this Veteran's day off.

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends? Neither me or DH. My dad was drafted for Vietnam and he got out of it somehow. The only one in my family that I know of is my aunt and her two children. I have a couple of distant friends that have joined the air force.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Stuffing. With weight watchers this year, they were saying to skip any dish you don't love, so I'm skipping most of them. No turkey, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, yams, or gravy. This leaves only stuffing and mashed potatoes.

What do you do on Thanksgiving? Well, last year we hosted. This year, we are traveling to CA with Trixie and going to my grandma's for TG. The day after is always the day we go to Aaron's family for TG. It's nice that his family always does it on Friday!

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day?
    Nope

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends?
Not me, no ... I actually think I did our country a favor by staying out of the armed forces, lol. DH actually took the test in high school to join the NAVY and he did really well on it, but his ex-girlfriend talked him out of joining (Which I'm glad about, because I never would have met him if he had). All of my grandfathers (I have lots of grandfathers) were in either the Army or the Marines.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
It's not really a dish, but I love loading a plate up with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and just mixing it all together. I don't care how gross it sounds or looks, I love it.

What do you do on Thanksgiving?
Sigh. Apologies for the length, but I need to blow off steam:

My family sucks because basically, they don't decide who's having Thanksgiving until literally 2 days before. And they do this every. single. year. You would think by now they would figure out "Hey, it's November 1st, we should pick who's having Thanksgiving". But, no. We get to the week of, and people are trying to make plans around my crazy family-so my siblings and my cousins are calling everybody regularly saying "Where is it? We need to plan our day around it", and after weeks of "Oh, I don't know yet", suddenly my mom, grandma and aunt all like realize "Oh, Thanksgiving? I didn't think people still did that every year. Oh well, I guess we'll have it a x's house".

Which, this is the only holiday they do this with. Christmas and Easter are always set in stone. And of course, Thanksgiving is the only holiday that DH's mom makes a big deal out of ... to the point where she will plan their dinner around my family so DH and I can make it to both.  I've even tried explaining that to my family, and still they wait until the last minute. And MIL gets upset, and pretty much doesn't believe that a family really doesn't know where Thanksgiving is until the week of, so that's made for some tension ... I honestly can't wait until we have a space big enough so I can just say to everybody "Thanksgiving's at our house, deal with it", lol.

ETA: For the first time in 4 years, DH is actually off on TG this year (Yes, I know he works for a bank, but they're actually open on TG, so usually he gets stuck working) ... so as frustrated as I am with my family, I'm happy that at least he's off. Which will make splitting the time between the families so much easier, regardless of where my family has it.

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends? Not us. But my brother is in the army, my BIL was in the army, so was my dad. I have other extended family that did small stints.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? Cranberry anything and pecan pie.

What do you do on Thanksgiving? Visit family, play cards and eat. Lots.

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? I'm self-employed, so holidays are kind of irrelevant unless I've got plans.

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Not me, but he was in the Air Force.  And yeah, he had to work today too.

Family or Friends? I've got friends and an uncle who were in the army, my father was in the Israeli army

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Stuffing/dressing.

What do you do on Thanksgiving? In the morning we go to my aunt's house for brunch, then in the afternoon we go to my parents' for dinner with my sis & BIL & nephew.

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? Nope, not a holiday here

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends? I haven't. A good friend's brother and husband are both Air Force, that's probably my closest connection to anyone in the forces right now.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  My aunt's garlic mashed potatoes with gravy.

What do you do on Thanksgiving? In the US, my whole family gets together at my aunt and uncle's in Napa - I love it and really miss it. Here, my host mom and I have done Thanksgiving over the weekend after the holiday (since obviously we don't have Thursday off) for the past 3 years. We alternate houses and invite friends - I always make the aforementioned potatoes and usually something else, host mom does turkey and gravy, and everything else is potluck. I'm grateful we started this new tradition.

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day?  No, but DH does.  Which is weird, because he usually doesn't get holidays off.

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends?
I have a lot of Disney friends who were Marines, for some reason.  One other Disney person is in Japan with the Navy.  My brother was going to go into the Air Force, but failed is psych eval.  My grandfather was a paratrooper in WWII.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
    Stuffing.  I loves it.

What do you do on Thanksgiving?
When I was at Disney, I worked Thanksgiving every year.  It was kind of miserable, but there was always a ton of food, so that was good.  Looks like this year, we're going to FIL's for Thanksgiving.  My sister invited us to her place, but it's an 11 hour drive and I don't think DH will get Black Friday off, so it's a no go.

Did you have today off because it's Veterans' Day? I'm a SAHM...I don't get days off...and although DD should have been at school today, she is sick, so she's home today...FMIL works for the state, so she's off...she took the baby so DD can rest :)

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI? Nope...Family or Friends? Lots of them...3 of my 4 grandparents, several cousins, plenty of friends :)

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Wasn't this asked? Green bean casserole...

What do you do on Thanksgiving? It depends on who else is doing what...last year we went out for dinner with family, this year, who knows? I'd originally planned to have dinner here, but my dad mentioned maybe going out, so I'm not sure yet...honestly, I'd rather make dinner here...I love cooking for company :)

Have you served in any branch of the armed forces?  How about DH/FI?  Family or Friends?  no and no.  Grandpa was in the Air Force.  FI had wanted to join the Air Force after he finished high school but didn't when I found out he wouldn't be able to pilot b/c of his eyes.  My "aunt" (her grandmother is my Nana's aunt - I don't know what that officially makes her) is in the Reserves.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  cranberry sauce - the good stuff - not just out of a can.  And sweet potato casserole.

What do you do on Thanksgiving? This year South Carolina.  :/  When I was growing up we always went to NY for Thanksgiving and spent the week at Grandma's.  Then we went over to my Aunt Lynn's for dinner and Christmas presents.
