Jr. GM and RB gifts

I have 2 junior groomsen ( btw 6-8) and a ring bearer (18mo). I am trying to think of gifts for them and I am having trouble. ANy Suggestions?? I want something that they can keep for a time period not just a toy. Ex: I got the flower girls personalized jewlery boxes and a book "finona the flower girl".

  • Kids aren't interested in keepsakes. They'll probably be disappointed if you get them something that's intended to be put away for when they're older, rather than something they can use right now.

I'd personally get them something they can open and enjoy right away (a toy, a book or candy), and then a savings bond or another keepsake (collectible coin or statue, a nice piece of jewelry or a wristwatch) that their folks can put away for them.

  • At 24, I don't own a single "keepsakey" thing from when I was a child.  The stuff that I do still have from my youth is rather random and intensely personal.  I wouldn't try to force it.  Just get them something that they'll like now.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • 6-8 year olds?  Think Star Wars or whatever they happen to love at the moment.  18 month old?  I'll let the fact that I don't think an 18 month old should even be in a WP go, but to answer your question....a piggy bank is a good suggestion.  A bathtub toy is also a good suggestion.  A teddy bear.

I feel the same way about gifts for children in WPs as I do for adults in WPs:  gifts don't have to be, nor should they be matchy-matchy, wedding related, or "keepsakes".
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
