Bridesman?

I recently got engaged and was thinking about who I would like to have in my wedding party. I'd love to have my brother in it; he lives really far away and we're close. However, he's only met my fiance once and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be for everyone involved if he was a groomsman. Would it be totally weird to have him as a bridesman? I'm not even sure he would go for it, but I was thinking about it as an option. Any advice or suggestions?

I'm having a Man of Honour. Our BMs are wearing red dresses with black accents and the GM are wearing all black suit, shirt, vest with a red tie. My MOH will wear a black suit with red shirt, red vest, red tie to blend more with the dresses :

Yup, totally fine.  I'm close with my brother and he's my "man of honor."  Include him however you feel most comfortable including him!

I'm thinking about having my childhood best friend to be one of my bridesmaids. Of course he is a guy. And he is more close than any of my girlfriends I have right now. By the time comes my opinion may be different. But he is more than willing to be or not to be in the wedding. His only concern was wearing a dress. He is gay, and just recently came out of the closet to everybody. He does sometimes dress cross gender but we won't be doing that at my wedding. 

I agree with BMcLeodTeam with him wearing a tux but matching the girl's dresses more than the groomsmen.

I asked my younger brother to be my Man of Honor lol!  He is one of my best friends and I couldn't imagine not having him by MY side on the day I get married.

I will also be having my younger sister as my MOH but whatever, its one of the most important days that will happen in my life so I can have two people of honor, right?

Obviously I don't think this is a strange idea at all so I say go for it!

My little brother was on my side. It worked out great. 

We called them all Bridal Attendants.

More than half the weddings I've attended in the past 10 years have had bridesmen and/or groomsmaids. I think it's great. People should have the people they are closest to for attendant, regardless of gender.

I honestly always think it's a bit odd when I see the groom's sister, or the bride's brother on the *other* person's side, unless they've become particularly close themselves.
