I'm just doing some browsing around for stuff to give my bridesmaids for wedding party gifts and I'm not sure if these are appropriate... Everything I've come up with is unique to the person and it's something they've expressed liking in the past. But does it work for bridesmaids gifts?
For example, one of my BMs is kind of an internet nerd, and loves some of the silly memes and videos she finds online. One in particular is the "Trolololo" song, she absolutely LOVES IT. And at one point she posted a picture of a T-shirt with the "trololo guy" on the front and said "I WANT THIS SO BAD!". I found a couple shirts that were good, I know she'd like it.
The other BM gift that i've come up with thus far, is an oil warmer with some oils to put in it, because that BM expressed liking the one we have, and wishing she had one for her apartment. I still haven't a clue what to get the third one. But do you think they'd dislike these gifts because they're not "stereotypical" bridesmaid gifts? I know the first BM wouldn't like jewelry or anything, and the other two have more jewelry than they even know what to do with. On top of all of this, I'm a bit tomboyish so I don't know the first thing about jewelry, clothes, fashion, etc. so I don't want to get them something that they'll put in a drawer and never use again (or set on fire because it's too atrocious to exist lol).
Also, FI has been thinking about his groomsmen's gifts. The only one we've thought of so far is a hiking staff for one of our mutual (and very dear) friends. He would love it, and he's helping us out A LOT with this wedding. He actually offered to loan us a thousand dollars interest free to help pay for the wedding when we were having some financial stress, we turned it down but the sentiment was honestly there and we truly appreciate everything he's done. The only thing is, this staff is like $50 dollars. The other gifts don't cost nearly as much. Would it be inappropriate to give him this gift that's more expensive than the rest? We'll be giving it to him anyway, but we thought we could use this as an excuse to give it to him. What do you all think?
ETA: I just saw someone else posted in a topic about wedding party gifts not 5 minutes before I made this post. Crap, I'm not trying to spam out the boards with the same topic as someone else, I swear! lol
