Ring bearer...

Hi! I have a 13 year old brother who I was thinking of having as my ring bearer. Is that too old? Any opinions would be great:)

Re: Ring bearer...

  • Ask him.  If he says he's too old, then he's too old.  I don't know many 13 year old boys who would be happy being called a ring bearer.  Perhaps if you called him the "ring guy" or the "ring dude" it would be more palatable.

But is there a reason that he can't just be a GM or an usher?
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • i agree with asking him. also for my parent's wedding, my little brother didnt want to carry a pillow, so my mom made him a little box to put the rings in instead.
i wouldnt ask him if he thinks hes to old. dont put the idea in his mind, just if he has some preconcieved idea about ring bearers is how he will even know.
if he doenst want to be ringbearer, he can be an "usher" i have a 10 and an 11 year old nephews that will be ushers, they will basically only "usher" their moms down the aisle is all.

  • Ask him and see what he wants to do. Ring bearer is fine if he likes that. Groomsman, or bride's attendant (he'd just stand on your side) is fine as well.

  • Ask him. He could always be an usher or pass out programs for you as well.
