It's the veil. Your question Frogurt.

• Woohoo!

What are the names of the 4 houses in Harry Potter?
image
• Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.

What does Hermione conjur up for Harry to place on his parent's graves?

• A wreath of flowers, too easy since I saw it last night :)

Where was the first university founded? For the record, this doesn't include learning centers that later became universities - I mean the place that was first founded as a "university," creating the term.

Cambridge?

• Nope. This one may be too hard - I learned it in college as a factoid from a professor, and it was the only trivia-type question I could think of.
• Ok. Keep guessing on Emily's question. In the meantime...

Which character on Friends accidentally said the wrong woman's name in his wedding vows? Bonus if you can name the woman standing in the white dress stunned.

Brigham Young?

EDIT: I'm embarassed that I just posted that. After I posted, I was like WTF? Why would I say that. That would make no sense. I'm sure universities date way back.

Ross/Emily. But I don't have any more questions :(

Frogurt, no. First hint: it's in Europe but not England.

Wait, I have one! Now this one is probably too easy, but oh well. On Sex and the City, what is Mr. Big's real name? Full name, please.
• John James Preston.

What is Thomas Edison's middle name?

• Yay Brooke! I was hoping to get the middle name too :)

Edison's middle name, however, I do not know.

This is bugging me. I know it was the President under the Articles of Confederation but I can't think of his name. You'll have to tell us if nobody gets this in a couple of hours. I cheated and checked the answer to Emily's question (never would have guessed it.)

Along the same lines as this question...

Who signed the Declaration of Independence with large handwriting so that King George III could read it without his glasses?

• Was John Adams the president under the AOC? And John Hancock had the diva signature.

• Just looked it up. Not John Adams. John Hancock did indeed have the diva signature so your question Brooke.

• Gonna then go with John Jay?

My question: Who was Britain's longest-reigning monarch?

• Nope. Elizabeth II just surpassed her, but two other monarchs have reigned longer than her, who celebrates her 60th year next year (the woman is the energizer bunny!). Which is the longest?

• I think it was Queen Victoria. I have to admit that despite my Irish roots I've always been fascinated with the British Royal family. I'm working my way through Sharon Kay Penman's historical novels that stretch from Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitane to Edward I.

Tricia is correct! Victoria is followed by George III and then Elizabeth II. Elizabeth will outlive them all.

I also have an unhealthy interest in the royal family. I've spent a lot of time reading about the Tudors, Platagenets, Wars of the Roses...and, in the last week, the Windsors. Charles was a man-whore before he got married. Did you also know he and Diana only saw each other 13 times before they got married? 13!

I read The Windors years ago. This is why I am stunned that Will gave Kate Diana's e-ring. I love sapphire e-rings, having one myself, but this is the absolute last one that I would have wanted. Talk about a lamb to the slaughter.

This one is for you Brooke: What was the name of King John's son in law (married to his daughter Eleanor) who led the barron's rebellion becoming the de facto ruler of England until Edward I reclaimed the throne?

Edit: For everyone else: Who is the Russian Grand Duchess rumored to have survived her family's assassination?

• Re: Diana's engagement ring: One of my friends brought that up. But I think we all forget that she was an amazing mother to those boys, they lost her when they were very young, and I think it's sweet that he wanted a part of her there.

• Nope. The 6th Earl of Leicester Simon de Montfort. His daughter Eleanor btw was married to the last true Prince of Wales, Llywellen the Last, and was the first woman invested with the title "Princess of Wales."

I won't ask you to sing unless you do so in the form of another trivia question.
