I'm starting to think about WP gifts. I have 3 girls plus 2 flower girls. I was looking at some nice clutches, nice jewelry, etc...the typical BM type gifts. However, I have booked onsite hair and makeup artists. So, the day of the wedding, we will all be getting ready in my hotel suite and will have hair and makeup done on-site. The rate is $90 per person, and the FG rate (which I guess includes hair, plus a little lip gloss and blush type primping) is $25. I am starting to think of just paying for hair and makeup for everyone as their gift...maybe I would also do a small trinket of some sort, but there would not be much $ left over to get a big present if I spring for the hair and makeup.
I don't know the protocol for this. Is it bad etiquette to offer a service as a gift rather than a physical gift? If not, would most girls rather have a physical present, or rather have their hair and makeup costs taken care of? Either way, I obviously would not be forcing anyone to get hair/makeup done...if I didn't end up paying for it and they wanted to opt out and just do their own to save the $, that would of course be fine with me...
Anyone, who has been a BM before have an experience with this? Did you have hair/makeup professionally done, and who paid? If you were offered free hair/makeup, but not a physical gift, would you be psyched or bummed?
