My sister whom is my made of honor has a serious boyfriend. They have been together 2 years, live together, and are talking marriage. I thought it would be a nice gesture to include him as on my fiance's groomsmen but my fiance is adamant that he does not want him included in that aspect of the wedding. Am I wrong to push for him to be included? Is there something else we can have him do to be included in our day but not in the wedding party?
We are Jewish so there aren't any readings or gifts for the ceremony like there are in church weddings. What else can we have him do?
