Ok, so my FI has a sister, and obviosuly I want her to be a part of the wedding, but not a bridesmaid. I only wanted 2-3 maids, and now I'm already at 4. I can't fathom pushing it to 5, especially since I'm having a smaller wedding. I think she and her mom just assume she'll be a bridesmaid since she's the groom's sister, but I'm not close enough with her. She's kind of been stand-offish toward me, and she's never really around. I'd like for her to be an usherette or do a reading, but I'm really not in love with the idea of her being a maid. Do I need to let her be one? And how do I bring it up? I know if I just don't ask her, it should be obvious she's not one, but I still feel like they think she's in the wedding, so I need to talk about it with her and the mother-in-law.
