Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? We did one last night. From Augusta Maine to NYC!
When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? I drive. I am a speed demon and he's WAY better at finding stuff on google maps than me. In fact, when he drives, he expects me to do the same even though we already have a GPS.
What snacks are a must for your road trips? Beef jerky, dried fruit!
Are there any mandatory stops? Cracker Barrell!!!!

Road trips with FI? The longest has been the drive to the beach. 4 hours total. We will be driving about 9 hours to FL for the honeymoon. We'll see how that goes.

Driver and navigator? He usually drives and the GPS navigates. I drive sometimes but it is mostly him.

Snacks? Coke or Diet Coke. Beef Jerky. Sun Chips

Mandatory Stops? No, we don't like to stop unless a bathroom break is "a must."

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? NC to Charleston, SC at least once a year.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? he drives, and Cindy navigates.  Cindy is the GPS - one of my friends named her.  I remind FI not to mute Cindy b/c otherwise we miss turns

What snacks are a must for your road trips? crackers and mountain dew

Are there any mandatory stops? when the car is almost out of gas

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?  Our longest road trip to date has been about 2 hours (we just did a 2-hour drive yesterday up to Newport for the day and back so 4 hours in a car together total).

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? We take turns. Although I am a total backseat driver even when it's my turn to read the GPS / directions...poor DH. lol.

What snacks are a must for your road trips? I always carry a protein bar in my purse and we bring water but otherwise, nothing really since our car trips have been so short. We've gone on long FLIGHTS, though - our longest being 10 hours for our HM trip to Europe.

Are there any mandatory stops? Only when someone has to pee.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?
    No, we actually never have.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
He likes to drive and I hate it, so I imagine he would be the driver.

What snacks are a must for your road trips?
I love M&MS and pretzels.  Actually, pretzel M&MS are my new favorite thing!

    Are there any mandatory stops?
Bathroom breaks and sometimes stretch breaks!

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?
We've done several.  The last one was when we moved from FL to CA and we had to drive separately.  Never doing long road trips again.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
He's usually the driver and the navigator.  I sleep :)

What snacks are a must for your road trips?
Water and Dr. Pepper.  Usually some sort of trail mix, DH likes beef jerky, and some type of fruit.

    Are there any mandatory stops?
Yes, bathrooms.  The older I get the smaller my bladder becomes.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?Heck yes. We love road tripping. When we were in college, we went on one together about every other weekend, depending on work schedules.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? I drive, because I am the perfect combination of zen/road rage, and my fiance navigates because he is all zen.

What snacks are a must for your road trips? Combos and Diet Dr. Pepper

Are there any mandatory stops?Any and all kitsch places advertised on billboards and Chili's. Mmmm Chili's.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? Yes.  A few three hour drives here and there and a 5 hour drive to Iowa for a canoe trip last year.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? Well, I am a better driver than H, and I'm also a better navigator.  I usually drive, and now that we have Helen (our GPS) Helen is usually the navigator.  Except for one time when we were in Florida.  H drove the whole time because Florida drivers are CRAZY!

What snacks are a must for your road trips? Sour gummy worms, water, soda, chips.

Are there any mandatory stops? To get gas or if we are hungry.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? We drove about 14 hours to Disney World a little over a year ago, 8 hours to Myrtle Beach, and we just got back from a 5 hour trip to TN a coulple weeks ago, along with a bunch of 2 hour trips.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? We take turns driving, and the GPS navigates.  I am absolutely horrible with directions.

What snacks are a must for your road trips? Granola bars, Cheetos and Diet Coke

Are there any mandatory stops? We usually stop at Cracker Barrel on longer trips, otherwise just for bathroom breaks or emergency snacks.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?
Straight shot from Florida to PA, about 15 or 16 hours.
When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
We alternated, I drove first then he took over the second leg. Usually whoever is not driving navigates, but now we have GPS to do it for us.

What snacks are a must for your road trips?
Doritos for me, he likes pretzels and trail mix.
    Are there any mandatory stops?
No, just bathroom breaks when necessary. But that would also depend on the trip and whether or not there's something I'm dying to see.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? Many many times.  That whole long distance thing and his family lives far away.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?  He drives.  I pout about it.  I keep telling him that my driving skills are dying.

What snacks are a must for your road trips? Pizza combos.

Are there any mandatory stops?  We don't stop.  We are those people, to quote Jerry Seinfeld, "it's not important to just get there, you have to make good time."

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?  I've never really considered them "road trips", but we've driven up to Yosemite (7-8 hours), out to Vegas (4 hours), and out to Phoenix (6-7 hours) several times.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?  If the two of us are in the car, he's the one driving.  He doesn't think I'm a very good driver, even though the only accident I've ever had was a tire blowout.  :/  The GPS navigates, and I keep an eye on it to make sure DH doesn't space and miss an exit.

What snacks are a must for your road trips?  No real musts, other than lots of water.  We'll usually just grab whatever looks yummy and is decently priced.

Are there any mandatory stops?  Not really.  When I was a kid, road trips from Phoenix to SoCal always required a stop in Blythe, but the couple of times DH and I made the trip, we just drove through.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?
Several. We went to Rhode Island this past weekend, which was probably the longest.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
I usually drive and he navigates. For the 8 hour trips, we switch, but I still tend to do most of the driving.

What snacks are a must for your road trips?
Pei Wei and water. Lots and lots of water.

    Are there any mandatory stops?
FI has the smallest bladder in the world, so the mandatory stops are mostly for him =)

Yes, we went on vacation together this year...from Columbus, GA to Orlando, FL with 4 kids!
When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
He was the drive and probably will always be the driver...I navigated although I think sometimes I got on his nerves...LOL.  I enjoyed it!
What snacks are a must for your road trips?
Anything sweet!  There always has to be a variety of snacks with us and all the kids!
    Are there any mandatory stops?
Well, of course we had to stop at McDonald's for lunch...it NEVER fails the kids ALWAYS want McDonald's!  And then just regular bathroom breaks...but I don't think we made too many of them.

Yes. We drove to lower Wisconsin in early June.

When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
He drove because it was in his truck. I navigated because I was the passenger. We have done other small 4 or so hour trips and either one of us drives.

    jerky, nuts, bottled water

    Are there any mandatory stops?
if there is special food or something in the area we are traveling to.

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH? Yeah...we drove from Pittsburgh to Plymouth, MA to take my DD to visit her dad for Spring Break :)
When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"? I don't have a license yet...so he drives, but since I'd taken the trip several times before, I was the navigator (with a bit of help from Google Maps...)
What snacks are a must for your road trips? We packed granola bars, fruit cups, string cheese and sandwich makings as well as cans of iced tea and bottles of Mt Dew (mostly for him)...that's generally what I pack for long trips
Are there any mandatory stops? Depends on where I go...but on the PA/MA trip I almost always make a stop in Scranton to go to Perkins...

Have you done a road trip with your FI/DH?
Heck yeah! We love road trips! About once every few months we try and go somewhere that is at least 2-3 hours away or more, and stay the weekend.
When you do a road trip, who is the driver and who "navigates"?
Eric is the driver, almost always. He is more confident in unknown places.

What snacks are a must for your road trips?
Water, and usually something crunchy. And gum.

    Are there any mandatory stops?
Restrooms!!! LOL I'm one of those that tend to need to stop a lot more than average people. And any corny little tourist trap (think Biggest Ball of Yarn or wahtever) and I have to see it!
