Wedding Party

::Joy::

Congratulations on Halladay's no hitter.  If the next couple of games go well for my side, I may be showing up in a bar somewhere wearing my Wire To Wire T-shirt from 1990 when the Reds were in 1st place every single day of the season and then swept the A's in the World Series. (God, it's really been that long.)

  • Woo!  We had a good start.  But, if you remember the World Series last year, we had an awesome game one there, too.  I'm trying to take things one game at a time.  But Roy did a fantastical job (obviously).

    I wish you luck and enjoy the Reds post-season!  No one knows what will happen!

    But.. should their run end prematurely, I'd hope you'd consider cheering for the Phillies.
  • Depends.  DH is from northern California and grew up a Giants fan.

    The Giants!  Oh, I love Aaron Rowand.  LOVE.  I hear he was hurt for most the season, though, and I have no idea if he's playing in the playoffs.

    EDIT:  Pat Burrell plays there, too.  I forgot about that until just now.  What do Giants fans think of him?

    [QUOTE] Having lived in Cleveland for ten years, I can say that it's pretty bitter watching Charlie Manuel managing the Phillies knowing he couldn't help the Indians win a World Series.

    THIS is how I feel about Terry Francona.  Um, Red Sox fans?  He coached the Phils to last place.  Please don't think he had much to do with that Red Sox World Series win.  It's about the players.
  • Did I tell you that I was at the Reds/Phillies game here during the season where the Red's rookie (Woods) was going for his first win and pitched a perfect game until the 9th inning?  Halladay was pitching that night too - anyone else and we would have won and the kid would have had the most incredible first major league win ever.
