Flower Girls Dresses... Average Cost

Hello. Does anyone know what the average cost of a flower girl dress is? The one I like is 99$ and the sash is 10$ is that too much?

I found some super cute dresses at Costco. They were only $17 but man, the dress is CUTE!! They had them out in February (I am guessing for Easter being that most were pastels). I found one that works with my wedding colours, will look adorable on my FG and I absolutely love it and so did she :)

  • i seriously bought my girls flower girl dresses ( i have 2) for 30 bucks at boscovs.. theyre super cute.. they can wear em again..and there young..so if they happen to ruin them throughout the night..im not losing out on hundreds
  • If you're paying for it, then pay whatever you feel comfortable with.

If the parents are paying for it, then you need to ask them what they want to spend. And then either pick a dress in that price range, or pay the difference yourself (if they want to spend $50, then pony up $59 of your own money to pay for the dress you want).

The dress doesn't have to be labeled a "flower girl dress" or be from a salon ... you can get the exact same thing if you just look for an Easter dress, party dress, Communion dress, etc. Start looking in the stores now that the Easter dresses are on clearance. My recently married friend had two gorgeous little flower girls and she told me afterward that their dresses were $40 each from Kohl's. I seriously had no idea that they weren't from a salon.

If I had had flower girls, I wouldn't have paid/asked the parents to pay $100+ for a dress they'd only wear once. I would've gone to a department store or TJ Maxx or something to find a nice dress. That's your call, of course, but your main concern here needs to be sticking within the parents' budget if they are paying.

  • Ask whoever is paying for the dress what their budget is and stick within that or make up the difference yourself. I got my flower girl dress on sale for Easter for $25 from JCpenneys. Also looked at Burlington coat factory and they have some good deals on cute dresses too.

Thats the dress i bought for my neice as a flower girl at JCP.  She LOVES it and it fits the Dressy Casual wedding im having.  My guys are Wearing dark pants, med blue color shirt and ties, My dad and nephew are wearing light blue shirts with blue stripe ties and my Matron is wearing a pink dress to match flower girl and I. I love how she can wear the dress as is for the ceremony but if she wants she can put the little sweater on after if she gets chilly.

  • Ditto PP's..I bought out flower girls dress at JC Penny a few months before the wedding, and it was $25. So adorable
  • We're planning on purchasing from a department store, too.  My bridesmaid's daughter will be our flower girl and I plan on purchasing the flower girl dress.  Maybe it makes me cheap, but I plan on finding something very affordable (and have found quite a few options!).
