FFIL Update (NWR)

Surgery went well, from what FSIL told us when she texted. The issue wasn't in his stomach, but a tumor in his colon...so he does/did have cancer, and they will determine once he recovers from surgery whether or not he'll need chemo as well. We will be going to see him tomorrow :)

Thanks all for the positive vibes/prayers/well-wishes...hopefully he recovers well and doesn't need the chemo.

Re: FFIL Update (NWR)

  • Best wishes to your FFIL, and his family, and you too Jaime.  I'll be thinking good thoughts for you all.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • I think I must have been gone for this. I'm glad he is doing well. Hopefully they were able to get the tumor and he won't have to go through too much chemo, if any.

  • Glad to hear he made it through surgery ok.  I will keep sending positive thoughts your/his way!

  • FI and I went to see him this evening at the hospital...he's looking pretty good. They got the whole tumor, which was found to be malignant, so hopefully that's all she wrote there. He said that if he needs chemo, it's more preventative as opposed to treatment, to make sure it doesn't come back. He's optimistic, and can't wait until he can have food again...sucking on a sponge isn't exactly satisfying :)
  • I'm glad to hear that!  Hopefully that is "all she wrote" :-)
