So how do you feel after the LSAT?

Re: ::Manwaithiel::

  • I feel pretty good. I have to wait 3 weeks to get the score back so I'm trying to just forget about it for now. I want to kiss Brooke, because she recommended the PrepTest series. I was really nervous at the start of the test, but once I got started it was just like riding a bike. Everything was the same and I didn't feel overwhelmed in the least.

    How does it feel to be an official lawyer person in Penn? =DDD

  • I still have to go through the Character and Fitness interview.  You normally do this as a 3L but because I'm coming in as an attorney from another state, I could take the bar first.

    I will say that the PA C&F paperwork was much easier.  I had it filled out in one afternoon with four or five supplements along the way.  The Ohio C&F paperwork took months because of how much information needed to be tracked down.  One guy in my class hired a private investigator to get all his information for him because he literally did not have the kind of time that was required.  Another woman took two days off to drive all over the state and go through books of traffic citations to find the speeding and parking tickets she got in the late 60s.  Another forgot about a ticket that her mom got while visiting her at Bowling Green (at the college, the ticket is issued to the student) and the C&F board actually gave her a hard time about this omission.

    I'm glad the LSAT went well.  You will look back on this as being the easiest part of the law school experience.  I hope you get into a school because you really do have a natural talent for clear concise arguments and are willing to change your position.  I said it before and I meant it:  every newbie puts up a fight but the ones you put up were probably the most memorable and you've became one of the best responders on these boards.

  • Thanks, girl! Haha, there are definitely some memorable ones =P. The one with the stupid book was pretty hilarious, looking back anyway.

    I will never get licensed in Ohio. That's insane. Insane. In Virginia, traffic tickets don't even stay on your record after 5 years. I can't imagine having to report something from decades ago. Geeze... =(

    Is there anything else after the C & F Interview?

  • No.  Nothing after that.

    If you are planning on the Virginia bar, here is that state's annoying quirk:  You have to be in a suit to sit for the bar exam, so buy one a size too big.  You will gain weight your last month of studying and you don't want to be uncomfortable.  Learned that little tidbit from others taking the PA exam in July.

  • Wow! That's definitely different. Will keep that in mind =)

  • They say your wedding day is the happiest day of your life but I say FALSE--the day after the LSAT was for me because it meant that, no matter how I did, I was never taking it again and my days of studying for it were over!  I actually did a little dance at work the following Monday with my coworkers to celebrate.

    Of course there's still law school exams, MPRE, the bar...but don't worry, you'll get there :)

    A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.
  • Trust me on this one.  Happiest day of your life is the day you pass the bar.  DH noted that I was crying happy tears Friday and didn't even come close to this emotion on our wedding day.

  • I am VERY happy after taking the LSAT. I've been doing enough stressin'. I had a test this morning in a management class and now that that's over, I can chill out a bit and focus on my senior recital. Very excited about that. I don't even want to think about the bar or anything else right now =P

    Don't.  If you did, trust me, you wouldn't be so gung-ho about law school :)

  • Brooke is right.  From here on out, you don't want to think about anything before you absolutely have to.   No joke - my hair started to turn grey towards the end of my first year of law school.
