My FI and I mutually agreed to ask two people who are important to both of us to be our MOH and Best Man. We told them that they could wear whatever they want for the wedding and all that we wanted was for them to stand up at the altar with us and act as witnesses.
Sounds simple?
Not to the busybodies in our lives it isn't. Then again, it's our wedding, not theirs.
Among all of the issues we heard have been:
1. It's a wedding....they have to match you guys. (No.....they don't....)
2. Why wasn't (insert any other person) asked to be in the BP? (We made our choice.)
3. Put in any complaint that you can imagine. We've heard it.
I wish that I could hand these busybodies a big fat can of STHU. Followed by a smile.
