And one of the first things I thought of were some of the brides on here who come and cry because all the attention is shifted to the newly engaged bride-to-be. She met this guy a couple months ago on a dating website and he's away in the Navy and proposed via chat. When she told me that, my first response was "WHAT?!?!" But not because I was angry, but because I was genuinely happy for her. I don't uderstand why people freak and post "oh noes!!!1!111 This is my day!" If this person is truly your friend, you'll be happy for them, no matter if your wedding is in 3 1/2 months or 3 1/2 days.
Sure, I'm a little concerned that they haven't known each other that long and he's 10 years younger than her, but I'm happy for her because she's my friend. FI is concerned that this guy is too young and he's been away longer than they've been together, but she's happy, so I'm happy.
