NWR: Mike Rowe visited me at work today!

Well, he didn't technically visit me, but he was still here today. :)

  • Cool!  Do you have a "dirty job"?
    image
  • Haha, no, my job is not dirty.  He was here talking about a collaboration he is doing with the company I work for.

  • I love his voice for some reason. I could have listened to him talk forever.
    Anniversary
  • Suz you're not the only one: he narrates something like half the shows on Discovery channel.  Frogurt, I'm officially jealous.

  • I am so jealous.  I love Mike Rowe!
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Neat!

Did he sing any opera for you? :P

  • haha Isnt it awesome when you get a Bring a celeb to work day! We had Dale Earnhardt Jr a few months ago, but I think Mike Rowe would have been WAY more awesome!
  • I am super jealous! Do you work for Ford? I know he's the spokesperson, but what isn't he spokesperson for these days?
  • I do not work for Ford.

He didn't sing any opera for us, but he did sing!  He said he wrote a theme song for Dirty Jobs one time when he was sitting at a bar in Oklahoma and now they are playing the song on the radio there.  I honestly had no clue he could sing at all, let alone opera.

He was really great to listen to.  He seemed really relaxed, and he was a lot of fun!  I didn't get a chance to get my picture with him, though, but neither did anyone else so I guess I'm ok with it.  One lady did hug him twice.

oh oh... Edwin McCain, the singer, is an investor in the company I work for. It is a small company and he just comes in to say hi and hang out every now and then. He's awesome!

  • I used to work for Edward Cullen.  Not the vampire, but still pretty cool that I could say my boss was Edward Cullen. haha.

I was terrible at Spot the Celebrity at Disney.  I took Cindy Crawford out on the Jungle Cruise, and only knew who it was because her daughter had her name on her birthday button and I Googled it when I got home.  l no doubt saw a ton of them in my tenure there, but I didn't recognize any of them.  (Though I did nearly yell at a Jonas brother while they were filming a promo for the Toy Story ride.)
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • How were you not on the stage, dry humping him? That's what I would have been doing.
  • My family is in the wine/beer industry.  We've had several people come through to taste, but no one cool has ever come when I have been working.  Minnie Driver has a home in the area and my SIL has met her twice, but I've always missed out.  Alex Trebeck also used to own a neighboring ranch, but he was rarely ever there, so I never saw him either.
