How to ask your bridesmaids

I have a cute idea to ask my girls to be my bridesmaids. I'm making each one of them a dream catcher and I would like to include a little saying with something along the lines of "finding the man of my dreams and how I need them there to keep away any nightmares. I'm just not sure of a clever way to word it. Any ideas?

  • Honestly, I would just ask your girls in person (but individually). I think it is a lot more meaningful that way, to let them know what good friends they are and how you'd be honored to have them stand with you on that day.

I also don't get the nightmare thing with your saying anyway. To me, that implies there would be nightmares on your wedding day? That seems kind of negative.

That was my concern too. I don't want it to sound like the wedding will be a nightmare but I wanted to incorporate the word because I'm making them dream catchers. I think I found a cute way to say it though, instead of saying keep the nightmare away I'm going to say something about how in the past they've always helped with "past nightmares".

  • Just ask them.
  • Yeah....leave out the nightmares.

  • I love the idea of giving them dreamcatchers, but I would agree that the phrasing needs to be modified a bit.  Perhaps something like "I would be honored if you stand beside me on the day of my dreams."

Defintely leave out anything that implies that they are obligated to do/be exposed to negative things.
