Hi. I wasn't ignoring you. I've been pretty busy the past week and only started looking at TK again last night.
I'm glad you liked Cleveland. FI and I keep saying that the city has no idea what it really has. I had a turn of the century Victorian apartment on Lake Avenue and a 5 minute commute to the courthouse every day. FI lived downtown in the warehouse district. I could walk to the nearest lakeside beach in about fifteen minutes.
The next time you are there, you have to try Lola's on 4th street. Iron Chef Michael Symon owns the restaurant. Friends took me there for my b-day a few years before he became a household name so I'm pretty confident in saying he cooked my 30th birthday dinner for me. The guy who has the restaurant next door has fabulous duck fries (fried in duck fat and covered with cheese and gravy - you might see Mike Symon doing a happy dance in the chair next to you while he's eating them).
Also, check out West Side Market on Lorain Avenue. I've never seen anything like it in another city. I did all of my grocery shopping there for a decade. It's the freshest food you can get because it's (almost) all local. The meat is cut for sale on site. The one time we were there my butcher refused to hand over a sirloin roast to FI until he told him how it was going to be prepared and convinced the butcher it wouldn't become a charcoal brick.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. People thought I was crazy for not wanting to leave.
