All my life I've had 2 best friends: Amanda (fun, energetic, easy-going, and just like me) and Kate (quiet, negative, cynical, but dependable). Before I even got engaged, Kate let me know that she'd "better be the MOH" in my wedding. Shortly after that, she moved to Washington DC to pursue a career in politics. In the past year, we've grown apart (naturally) because of the distance and how busy she is. And Amanda and I have gotten a lot closer.
My issue is that I have NO IDEA how to tell Kate that I want Amanda to be my MOH. I've never told Kate that she'd be my MOH. She just assumed that'd be the case. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I'm just trying to be logical. Amanda is the one that will be by my side every step of the way, so it just wouldn't be fair to give the title of MOH to Kate.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to soften the blow?
