Re: WPBP of the day

• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) Georgia to visit step-SIL, which we'll hopefully be doing once we get our schedules worked out and find free time in common with her. She is out of town really often.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? White/off-white walls that we can't paint without permission and our apartment is pretty tiny anyhow. So we have some sort of Malaysian or Indonesian garb hanging like a tapestry, a couple paintings, pictures (need to get wedding/e-pics printed to hang), a couple masks from the French Quarter, and the skillets/trivet hanging.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? I wish I could paint the bedroom to somehow complement our painting from Sydney. I have no clue what color that would be, though.

What do you have to look forward to today? We get the internet back today, so I won't have to use a slow free wi-fi connection.
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) Santa Cruz, which is about 2.5 hours south and is a cute little town in wine country. A friend lives there, so we'd go see him, drink wine, take the dogs for a walk and go to the awesome museum. Second choice would be the beach.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? Paint. We have 2 pictures in the living room right now and are getting some wedding pictures framed. In the bedroom we have one photo up, and we have a painting that's coming for our entryway - it's a work in progress.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? White everywhere except our room, which is grey, and the guest room, which is light yellow.

What do you have to look forward to today? Going home to a clean house - cleaning lady comes today!
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) Great Adventure! (Six Flags to those of you not from the NJ area)

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? Mostly paint and pictures - some photographs, some artwork, plus I collect Venetian masks. Shelves with art glass on them. A Nosferatu candle sconce. Asian fans and a wooden African mask. We're pretty eclectic.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? We rent, we didn't choose the paint colors.

What do you have to look forward to today? Getting a bunch of stuff done.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. ~Mae West
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) The zoo might be within 3 hours....

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? we have a couple dozen paintings - FI's grandmother was an artist
If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? they're just beige

What do you have to look forward to today? adjunct faculty orientation
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving)
Santa Barbara. It's so relaxing, I love it there.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint?
No paint just pictures. We live in an apartment and just didn't feel like painting them this time just to have to paint them back.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?
The last time we painted the bedroom was a beige color (I know it sounds boring but it was really nice) and the bathroom was a sage green.

What do you have to look forward to today?
A nap. I look forward to my naps everyday. I'm trying to get as many in as I can before school starts.

HAD to mini-cation under 3 hours? Well the beach is 3.5 hours away :( I would probably go to the lake which is in the same town I went to college. I could see a few of my friends while I was at it. EDIT: Totally forgot that we could go up to the mountains. Linville maybe?

Walls in my house decorated? Paint and a combo of pictures/mirrors. I worked at a home decor/garden shop so I got lots of cool discounted stuff to decorate with.

What color paints? The kitchen, stairs and hallway are a neutral brown/khaki. The living room is an earthly green (FI picked out the color), dining room is red (already painted that color by previous owners and looked nice), the "man" room is blue, and the master bedroom is a khaki/yellow. The two bedrooms are still painted from the previous owner. One is a pretty light blue but the other is white with red stars sponged onto the top of the wall. They painted the closet door and trim work navy blue. It will take us forever to cover that! The bathrooms have various wall paper. TMI?

Look forward to today?Free cookie day at my local Subway, getting off of work and going home, FI is off tonight so I get to see him for more than 5 minutes, which is the most i've seen him in 1.5 weeks now.

• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) San Diego. Probably would spend the day at Sea World, it's been a while since we've been.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? They're not really decorated... We've just never really bothered. It's an apartment so we can't paint, and we're planning on moving out in April so there's no point now. We do have a shelf with DH's beer bottle collection, but that's about it.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? The walls are beige. There's one brown wall in the living room, which does add some nice depth.

What do you have to look forward to today? Hmm. Ummm... If DH gets done with work early, we might have a nice dinner tonight. Otherwise, it's just sort of a blah day.

Are there public access points to the lake? I haven't managed to find any info on that yet and would like to go if it ever stops raining for a day.
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) I'd head to New London, CT and sit on the beach for a bit.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? Right now paint and some pictures up - need to get more art on my walls.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? My kitchen is red - I love it. Bedrooms are light blue, mint green, and "creme brulee." Livingroom is a neutral beige shade and dining area is an olive green - only thing we haven't changed from the previous homeowners.

What do you have to look forward to today? Going walking with my friend tonight after work - bringing the dog and the 3 of us are going to get some good excercise!

• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving)Hmmm...Hannibal. There's nothing quite like pretending to be Tom Sawyer for a day.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? We rent, so just pictures. Both my fiance and I painted some pictures to put up, and we also have family photos and some tin signs decorated like old photo prints of cities. We have a bohemian feel going on. I've thought about those wall decals, but I'm just not sure if I would like them in person.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?Awww...I wish I could answer this question.

What do you have to look forward to today?Going home and putting our wedding invitations together and then vegging out to our latest Netflix acquisition 500 Days of Summer.

Probably Oklahoma City to visit my FI's sister.

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint?
They have a few pictures up. We haven't really decorated the walls much since we are renting our house right now and don't know how long we are going to stay.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?
N/A

What do you have to look forward to today?
My FI is going to cook on the grill tonight, so I don't have to handle dinner :-)

• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving) I'd like to take FI and the kids to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland or to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton...both are within 3 hours :)
How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint? There is one picture of Kayleigh on my bedroom wall, most of our photos are framed and sitting on shelves...I also have a plaque on the wall that says, "Chocolate is the Answer...who cares what the question is?"
If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use? We rent...so no painting here...
What do you have to look forward to today? I was up until almost midnight making lasagna...I'm looking forward to having it for dinner (although the daughter and I have already had a piece for lunch) and sharing it with family and friends!
• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving)
Probably the Poconos. Either Jersey or PA side, both are really nice (And within the 3 hour drive limit)

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint?
Just paint ... we've been talking about "Getting an art or 2", lol, just so the walls aren't so bare ... but we know the more stuff we get now, the more we're going to have to pack up and move in another year or 2.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?
The walls are green. They were supposed to be this really pale, subtle green, like the background of the Knot Thread titles, but the Home Depot color swatch lied to us, and they're really the color of green Post-Its, lol

What do you have to look forward to today?
This is pathetic, but there has been a lot of drama in my WoW guild lately, and last night some of it came to a head, and I'm supposed to be getting "all the dirt" tonight.

It's sad, I pretty much can never go to Great Adventure like ever again. My loser ex (That I had to get a restraining order on) works there so he can hit on 16-year-olds.

St. Louis

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint?
Paint. No pictures yet. I'm pretty much set on re-painting almost every room in our house, so we haven't put up any pictures yet. I do have a wall quilt that my aunt made me hanging in one of our spare rooms.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?
The only rooms we have painted are the livingroom and dining room. Ditto Meg on the light, subtle green turned post-it note green. I'm planning on repainting and picking a sage green.

The kitchen is tan/beige (planning on painting it aqua) main floor bath is white, guest bath upstairs is blue, master bath is beige (planning on painting it red), computer room is off white, spare room is a periwinkle color, and our bedroom is gray. It's probably the only room I don't want to repaint.

What do you have to look forward to today?
The fact that it is not horribly hot and humid today. I plan to go on a run when I get home!
image
• Frogurt, don't you just hate those deceptive color swatches? Even when it first started going on the walls it looked okay ... but when it dried, I was like "Um, wtf happened?"

We plan to repaint eventually, but like I said earlier, we're also planning on moving in another year or 2 (No room for a baby in our condo), so we're still undecided if we're going to find something we like, or if we're just going to be lazy and go with something neutral like beige to make re-sale a little easier.
Meg... did I totally miss you announcing you were pregnant or are you just saying that you are thinking about it? Just wondering. When FI and I bought our house we purchased the $3 paint sample cans from Behr. That was heaven sent. We were able to get the perfect color, paint the wall, watch it dry, and see how it looked in the room before dedicating tons or money and time to a wrong color. It saved us in a few rooms too. I would always suggest those!!!
Posted by suz62984
Oh snap, definitely not pregnant yet, lol. Re-reading what I wrote and I definitely can see how it came off that I might be, oops!

But we are planning to start TTC in another year or 2, and we really don't have space for much more than a crib, so the plan (Knock on wood) is to move into something a little bigger when when the time comes. Basically, if I get pregnant, we'd have to move shortly after having a baby anyway, so we kind of figured taking care of housing beforehand might make things a little less stressful.

• I came across an unopened package of Post-Its in my kitchen this morning and thought of you two, Frogurt and Meg. I also pictured the girl in the Lowe's commercial. "It's really, really green!"

Here's a pic. :)

• If you had the day off and HAD to go somewhere for a minication, where would you travel? (Make it 3 hour time limit with driving)
Regina (sounds like vagina) SK Canada. It's about a 2.5-3 hour drive and such a cultured city. I love it!

How are your walls in your house decorated? Pictures? Paint?
Depends on the room. The dining room has plaster walls, so just beige and tan paint. Living room has a couple pictures and tan walls. Kitchen is a beige, rust, and lime green (paint swatch sample!) and I have antique utensils hanging above the cabinets. Bdrm is white with zebra accessories.

If you've painted your rooms, what colors did you use?
Oops, see above

What do you have to look forward to today?
Might be going out for a drink with a friend. Otherwise, who gets evicted on Big Brother!
