Groomsmen

Is it weird for my fiance to use his dad as a groomsman?

Re: Groomsmen

  • Not at all.  He can ask whomever he likes to stand up for him.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Why would it be weird?
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Nope.  From what I understand it used to be quite common in the south.

  • No.  And you shouldn't be involved at all.

  • I've never personally seen it at a wedding, but I think its cute when I hear about it.  So not it wouldn't be weird.  And either way, sorry but you have no say in it.

  • Not weird to me, I think its sweet :)
  • Nope. 1. it's an old southern tradition for the father to be best man and 2. it's none of your business who is on your FI's side of the attendants.
