Dress for Flower Girl

Hi all!

I could use some advice on where to look for a Flower Girl dress...

Our flower girl will be 8 years old (on the older end of the range, we know) and is VERY tall for her age (not a big deal, I'm very tall for my age too ;)).  The problem is that a lot of these super-cutesy dresses look silly on her.  I'd love to find something that's appropriate, but also suits her age and height.  I've looked at a few junior bridemaid dresses, but none of them quite seem to work either.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

If she's growing like a weed, you're going to want to wait until as close to the wedding as possible.  Then just buy her a formal dress, rather than limiting yourself to the bridal lines.  Since your wedding is in the spring, there should be a lot of Easter dresses and other spring party dresses in stores in the weeks leading up to it.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Depending on when your wedding is, you may want to look in department stores close or after Easter or Christmas.
  • Maybe dresses marketed as quinceanera dresses?
  • My flower girl was 9. We got her a dress from JCPenny when their Easter line was out.
  • we got the grandkids dresses a prettyflowergirl.com   Our grands are short so they are very long.  We will wait until closer to alter.
