I didnt know such a title existed in the wedding world, but apparently it does. The reason I'm asking is because my planner suggested I make my FI's- brother's girlfriend/babys mother & mother to our godchild an "honorary bridesmaid" since I do not want to make her one of my bridesmaids standing next to me at the alter. The way my planner explained it was that she doesnt have the "role" of a bridesmaid, but she can still walk down the aisle and have a reserved seat. I'm confused. What is the purpose and what is the role of an honorary bridesmaid?
