Color of "groomsgal" dress

My FI is having 2 guys and a mutual friend of ours (female) stand up on his side. I want my BM and MOH to wear purple dresses. FI's grooms gal does NOT wear dresses which is why he asked her to stand up for him on his side---we were fine with her wearing a black suit. I hear from her partner (and one of my BM) that she doesn't want to wear a suit because she thinks she will stick out more wearing that and is wanting to wear a dress. I'm okay with that too. My question is, will it look odd for her to be in purple when the guys are wearing black tuxes or should I see if she'll wear a black dress in the same style? Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Either black or purple would look fine. Talk to her directly and see what she wants to do. Give her all the options and see what she likes best, or ask if she has any other suggestions (maybe a dress for the ceremony and then pants for the reception?).

Ditto mbc. It sounds like you're pretty open, so let her make the choice - and talk directly to her one-on-one rather than relying on what her partner says or what you might guess from knowing her.

Either would be fine. You could ask her which one she prefers. My first thought was black though.

i was the "best woman:" in my guy friends wedding and i thought it was cool how they worked it-- her bm's wore a pink dress with a black sash. then the gm wore a black tux black shirt and pink tie. so i wore a black dress with pink sash... same dress as the bm's just opposite colors... it was so cute.. so thats an ideas if u still want her in somethig different then ur girls

You really can't go wrong with any of the options, but I agree that talking to her directly would probably be the best solution. She might feel better in a black dress, or want to blend in more with the other girls and wear purple, or she might want a different style dress than the BMs. i think finding out her preference would be the most comfortable for both of you guys. She gets to wear something she likes and you and Fi have a happy bridal party member. Win-win.
