Can I just say (without being beaten over the head) that the 4-6 month "rule" should be killed with fire? Not to say it's not a good guideline, but every situation is different, and yes, asking too early can be a bad idea (I can attest to that). But that doesn't mean that EVERYONE is going to regret asking their WP earlier (or possibly even later) than that. Maybe we should give some leniency to those who decide they want to ask 10 months prior, or even a year prior. It's not always the same story, is what I guess I'm trying to say.
