Wedding Party

Even Steven?

Does the entire wedding party have to be even on both sides? My FI wants to add one more groomsmen which I'm totally ok with but I just want to know whether you think it would look strange or not? Or if there is a way I can have the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle without going in pairs so you won't even be able to tell it's uneven! Thanks!

Read the header under the words "Wedding Party" on this forum's page:

    Are uneven sides okay? (Yes!)
  • An uneven WP automatically invalidates your marriage license.  I thought everyone knew that. /sarcasm

Not strange at all. You can have them walk down one at time, or have 3 walk down together. It doesn't really matter, no one will care.
  • Who's going to stop you if it's NOT even?

Would you care if you went to a friend's wedding and she had an uneven bridal party? Would you even notice?

  • Thank you to the very few of you who were helpful. My mom didn't have a traditional American wedding so I just didn't know whether it was some kind of traditional thing that you should have even sides or not or if it was tacky to have the WP walk one by one down the aisle. I didn't ask for sarcasm or belittlement.

No one belittled you.  And sarcasm is nothing to take offense over.  Loosen up; this is just the internet.

ETA: People tend to get sarcastic when the answer to your question is on the main page of the message board right under the title.  Again, deep breath.

  • Honey, if you're this thin-skinned that you feel insulted that someone pointed out that the answer to your question should have been the first thing you saw on this board, you probably shouldn't be posting anywhere on the internet.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • To answer your question, it is just fine these days.

  • Uneven sides are fine. You can have the groomsmen walk first, or double up (two guys with one lady) for everyone to walk together. We had them walk separately in, and then out together (we had 2 ladies for MOH and BM- so they just walked side by side).
