Wedding Party

BP gifts

I got embroidered clutches they can use that day and later, flasks (my MOH hinted that she was hoping for one) and was going to get black pashminas that they can wear for the nov wedding and other times...is this good and enough?

  • We don't know your friends.  You do.  Are these things they would enjoy?  Quality over quantity here.

  • Well, i think so....I realize they can (but don't have to be) used at wedding, I was considering throwing in gift cards to personalized places...but its hard cuz my one BM is from LA and  doesn;t linke chain stores....I guess I feel good about what I've gotten just wondeirng if its sufficient....

  • That sounds almost like what I want to get my girls clutches, flasks, and compact mirrors. I might throw in other things like gum, tissue, lip balm, ect.. So I love your idea of course! lol I'd say it's enough but if u feel like u want to add a little more get something to put in the clutch that each girl would like.. You could do a gift card for one, nice lip gloss for another, a pair of earrings for the other, you know whatever you think each of them would like. :)
  • Just make sure that what you're buying fits them and not just you're wedding.
  • OP, I WOULD get the gcs EVEN for the bm that doesn't like chain stores. Get her a starbucks card. Who doesn't like coffee?! It's so expensive that it's nice when it's not your money to spend.

  • Would you consider that to be sufficient for a birthday or Christmas gift for each of them?

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I'd throw in the gift cards, just for that personalized touch.  And for your OOT bm who doesn't like chain stores, what about a gift card for a restaurant or coffee chain?

  • For the girl who doesn't like chain stores, might her favorite local store or restaurant do a gift certificate?  My mom and stepdad are big fans of an independent resort hotel, so while they didn't have shiny plastic gift cards, they printed up a nice gift certificate for me, which I gave them at the rehearsal dinner.

I like this idea to help you with the girl who doesn't like chain stores.  With a tiny bit of research/phone calling, I don't think this would be too hard to find out if some of her favorite local stores would make you up a gift certificate.  I've done this before and I've found the local stores do the nicest presentation!  I think your gifts need the gift card as a personal touch though.
  • she's a big vegan connouisseur and i actually called the vegan restaurants in her area...none seemed to offer gift cards, etc ( i was rather shocked bot oh well). she use to manage an SBUX and now hates all things coffee and tea.....I'm still trying to find some local clothing store or something that she might like who will do giftcards.....
I'd love to shower my gals with tons more than this...but we have had to alter some budget stuff due to my Mom falling ill....

  • Worse comes to worst, you can just get her a Visa gift card or something and include a note with it saying she should use it for a special meal or some nice new clothes.  We ended up going this route for SBIL's wedding: we couldn't get a gift certificate to a particular fancy restaurant for their honeymoon, so we got them a Visa gift card and gave it to them in a card that said what is was for.
