FI added a groomsman when I had it all planned out -

So my FI added a friend he's had for a long time after I planned it all out. I have one extra on my side who is male. I have 5 girls and 1 guy on my side. Groom now has 6. That is PLENTY of people (we only have about 90 guests), so I don't really want to add another girl. BUT I don't want two guys walking down together. Ideas?

So allow the man on your side to walk by himself?

Don't add someone else just for the sake of making your WP's walk "look pretty".

Just let both guys walk by themselves

Or have Best Man stand with groom as processional starts. Your Bridesman (proper term?) can escort one of your BM's down the aisle while the rest of the GM proceed as normal, escorting a BM.

TT i guess you're the only one who understood it - aaaand i think you're right. Thanks!

Forgive me, but what am I apparently not understanding about the situation?

FI has 6 GM (all men). You have 5 BMs and 1 Bridesmale (ie: 5 women and 1 man). No?

Kelly Brian. I think u understood whatshe was saying. But your math was off a little! If best man stands at alter with groom then there will be 5 groomsmen and 5 bridesmaid and 1 bridesman! So u would still have one male by themself! There are several ways to work it out tho! U could have ur best man at the top with ur groom. And pair up all ur bridesmaids and groomsmen. And have ur bridesman walk alone! Normally ur MOH would walk alone but instead have ur guy walk alone so he isn't walking with another male!

    Why?

You know, you could also have two guys escort one girl. Seriously, this is not a big deal.

Or you could have all the GM at the front with FI and the girls all walk by themselves. That's what we are planning to do.

Why can't two men walk side by side?
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

At our wedding we'll have all of the GM standing up with the groom, and my BM's walking down alone. In my mind it makes more sense, since the GM are his friends/brothers and are there to support him, while my BM are there for me. Why should the GM spend the moments leading up to the ceremony with me? They should be standing next to him. I wouldn't want my girls up there with the groom, I want those special moments with my best friends and sisters in the last minutes before the ceremony, and I think FI should have the same :)

My sister had her best guy friend be her friend of honor and I was her maid of honor. She had 2 other BM. Her husband had 4 GM that stood with him while the rest of us walked up the aisle. The two brides maids walked together and I walked with the friend of honor. Maybe something like this would work for you.
