1. What book are you currently reading? Brief description? I'm in between books. The next one I'm going to start reading is the latest James Patterson Women's Murder Club book. 2. What is the most recent movie you have seen? Rock of Ages 3. If you could have a conversation with any historical figure, who would it be? Why? Well they're not necessarily historical but I would love to have met and talked to all of the Beatles. They're one of my favorite bands and were such innovative musicians during their time and after. I'd also love to have a chat with Shakespeare because I find him interesting and love his work. 4. What is your style of vacation? Lounging, active, historical, etc. I like a mixture of lounging around and doing activities 5. What did you have for breakfast this morning? coffee and a bowl of Cap'n Crunch

I absolutely LOVE the Beatles and sometimes wish I had grown up in that era so I could have gone to one of their concerts. I have special edition Beatles yellow submarine sunglasses...yup I'm a geek!

Harry et al are about to invade Faerie. 2. I actually can't remember the last movie I saw. Maybe the 25th anniversary edition of the Phantom of the Opera at Albert Hall. 3. I'd like to talk to Jesus and ask him what he thought he was doing as opposed to what other people thought he was doing. 4. I'm definitely into history when it comes to vacationing. Of course, most of my vacations double as research trips. I study the ancient Mediterranean, so I get to go to some awesome places. 5. I had eggos and coffee for breakfast. Of course, I had it at 3 pm.

  • Sorry for the wall o' text. I'm on my phone and I just tried to fix it amd made it worse, so I'm giving up.

  • 1) Book ... none at the moment. I just finished 'The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks' about a week ago. Very interesting book!

    2) Movie ... Premier night of the Hunger Games. My tween and teen drug me to it. But I loved it! (Our theater is really icky and we rarely go to movies!)

    3) Historical Deceased Convo ... Mother Theresa. I just loved her.

    4) Vacation ... Def historical touring type stuff. I am a total history junkie! So are DH and kiddos! We love pretty much any sort of museum or historical district. Those poor kids. With me as their mother, they have no chance whatsoever of being normal.

    5) Vanila yogurt with oats and blackberries mixed into it. YUM
1. What book are you currently reading? The Hunger Games and also, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It's a true story of a poor farmer whose cells were taken without her knowledge and were used for developing the polio vaccine, PAP smear, In vitro research and more. Her cells have been used and sold by the billions, even to this day, for research....they are known as the HeLa cells. Sadly, her nor her family members have even been compensated for this, yet any woman on the planet, pretty much owes a shred of their own health to her. HBO is making a movie about this and I cannot wait to see it! 2. What is the most recent movie you have seen? I fell asleep watching The Hangover II last night. 3. If you could have a conversation with any historical figure, who would it be? Why? John F. Kennedy--I have always been fascinated with him as a President and how he moved and shaped our country during such a tumultuous time. There was a time that Americans would stand up in protest for what they believe in....sadly, those times have changed. Yes, people still protest, but it's not the same from the 60's when the entire country wanted change as a whole and it ended up becoming a movement. 4. What is your style of vacation? Lounging, active, historical, etc. Sitting on the beach, reading a book. I shall be doing this in 24 days!! 5. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If I had my way, it would've been my co-workers head on a plate. I settled for a NutriGrain bar....apple cinammon tyvm ;)

    1. What book are you currently reading? The Godfather by Mario Puzo. Amazing so far though the chapter I just read was a little slow.

    2. What is the most recent movie you have seen? I can't remember the last one but I'm going to watch Murder by Death tonight. If you haven't seen it, please do. It's HIGH LARIOUS. It's 'Clue'-like but better. Lionel Twain (played by Truman Capote) invites a bunch of the prominent detectives to his house for a weekend of dinner and a murder. And all the detectives are spoofs of popular detectives (Miss Marbles = Miss Marple, Diick and Dora Charleston = Nick and Nora Charleston, Sam Diamond = Sam Spade etc etc)

    3. If you could have a conversation with any historical figure, who would it be? Why? I've never ha dan answer to this question.

    4. What is your style of vacation? Lounging, active, historical, etc.
I like a combination. lounging beach day, visit to a museum, enjoyable hike, etc

    5. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
Some frozen breakfast sandwich and a banana
Hi GLB! I didn't know you do this until you mentioned it somewhere else...CC maybe? So here I am. 1. What book are you currently reading? Brief description? Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime. The title sums it up pretty well. Gearing up for election season.

If you want to gear up, a really good book was written by James Carville and Mary Matalin called All's Fair: Love War and Running for President. It's about the 1992 election but still funny and informative.

  • Lucy, did you see Game Change on HBO? Really interesting. Julianne Moore was brilliant.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
In Response to Re: WP Tuesday - Come Play!!! : ooh...I definitely want to read this. How have I never heard of her or her cells? Is it on Kindle?
    Posted by LucyHC
Not sure if it's on Kindle--I'm old fashioned and I love the smell of a book, so no Kindle for me :)

It's a great read and a very inspiring story!
