Ordering bridesmaid dresses online?

Hello,

I was wondering if any of your bridesmaids dresses have been or will be ordered online? I've seen a few sites with lower prices than in the store but of course I would be hesitant to order online and wanted to know if anyone else has tried this and has any reputable sites you could recommend.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Ordering bridesmaid dresses online?

  • Why are you hesitant to order online?  I think I do 90% of my shopping online.

  • Pearl's Place, Netbride, RK Bridal are usually cited as being reputable and having good prices. We're ordering from RK for a wedding I'm in next year.
  • Mine were ordered online, from AnnTaylor.com. But it sounds like you are probably buying dresses from bridesmaid designers, right?

I've heard good things about the sites that Emily mentioned.

  • We got ours on netbride and it was a lot cheaper. It came in faster too...nothing better than getting it faster and cheaper, is there? My bio has my review.

  • Thanks for the suggested sites ladies.

@Bab, I am hesitant right now because the sites I saw are not sites I have ever heard of. Normally when I order things online it's from places that I know or I know people who have used them. I defintely wouldn't just tell my bridesmaid to use their credit card on some random website I found online that I know nothing about.

  • My girls ordered theirs from Jay's Bridal.

  • My DD's BM dresses were all ordered online.  I think it was probably netbride.  No problems for her.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • DD ordered her BM dresses online from a brick and mortar store in Northern Illinois that also does internet sales.  9 dresses, only 1 had to be altered. The reason for that was the girl is very pear-shaped. She knew the bust would have to be taken in to get the dress large enugh for her hips.

The dresses were either $80 or $120 (I just can't remember which) cheaper than Wendy's and free shipping. They are by Enzoani.

We just got back to our hotel from the rehearsal and dinner, tomorrow is the big day!

  • Hi! We ordered ours from Nordstrom.com because they offer free alterations on all their dresses (unless it's a sale item). It was sooo much less expensive than even Davids Bridal, and have more wear-again capability. The only hitch was that my girls had to guess about their sizes based on the size chart on the website, but only one was snug and after alterations it will fit perfectly. :)
  • Thanks Lara

  • You don't get the service of a store though if you order online, and if anything happens with the manufacturer, you are SOL. At least a bridal shop would care, websites don't. And you'll still have to find someone to do alterations. If you go with a store, most bridal shops will have a seamstress on premise to do them.
