My fiance and I got engaged in December of 2010 and have been wedding planning since. My best friend is my MOH with my sister and two good friends as bridesmaids. My fiance had a best friend since he was a preteen and when we got engaged, he figured that his best friend would be his BM. Unfortunately, the two grew apart and are barely on speaking terms. Thus, FI has been pretty bummed the closer we get to the wedding because he hadn't picked a BM. He was torn between two very close friends, one he met a few years ago at work and one he knew since childhood.
After much thought, FI decided his friend of a few years better understood the place he is in his life right now and understands him and I settling down. While FI cares greatly for his childhood friend, the friend does not understand FI's lack of desire to go out to bars nightly when he has a wedding to save for. Sooooo, FI asked his friend from work to be his BM this past Friday. Since then, FI has been much more excited and relaxed about the wedding (which is 4/15/12). I was so happy when he asked him I burst into tears hahaha. It really makes the upcoming wedding so much more exciting knowing just how happy FI is.
