Have any of you ladies had any experience with the Mirena IUD? I've had 2 children with my fiance and we've been using it for 2.5+ years with some mild symptoms, but nothing unbearable. This last week, after a lot of cramping and missing periods (I've always gotten mine on the IUD throughout the time I've had it, although some women stop it altogether) and I've gotten it confirmed from the doctor that my strings are missing. I'm kind of freaking out. I mean, did it just get pulled up into there all of a sudden after 2.5 years?! Has anyone else experienced this?
Even if it is still in place in my uterus and the strings just got pulled inside, it's now going to be a big hassle to get it out. They'll need to use a special hook to find it and if they can't, I'll be scheduled for surgery to have it removed :S
Needless to say, as soon as this thing is out of me, my fiance will be getting a vasectomy - PRONTO!
