So, I feel like I just "crashed" the June 2012 board a week or so ago, as I just started posting without introducing myself! So, I thought I would try to make up for that so you ladies won't keep saying to yourselves, "Who IS this random person?!" :-)
I'm Emmy and I have been engaged my FI for almost 3 years, and our wedding date is June 2, 2012. We have been together for 8 years! We were engaged so long because about a week after our engagement, we stumbled upon the house of our dreams (we saw it leaving one of our friend's houses). Of course, FI and I are DIY-ers and "vision" people, so the house was kind of pitiful, so we bought it, dug our heels in, and have been throwing money into it ever since fixing it up! We are finally almost finished, so we have had time to breathe and finally set a date (and have the money) to get married!
I'm thrilled, and it's almost weird to be actively planning a wedding now after such a long engagement. We are having a "destination" wedding - I put that in quotes because it's not some fancy resort, it's just a spot where everyone will have to travel 6 hours or more to get there! It's in TN in the mountains by the lake we vacation at every year. It's really special to us, and we are super excited!
