I posted 4 weeks ago when we made were in the process of buying a house (it was that 3 unit one in Chicago) then the Home Inspection bombed. We had a 6 page report of things needing fixing (ex. they put on a new roof but didnt seal it around the edges, they put in a new kitchen but the plumbing wasnt done right) So after a week we finally came to terms with what they would repair.
The second inspection was Friday. (we close a week from today) and it went great. The inspector said they even went above and beyond the agreed repairs!
So as soon as I get off the phone with FI telling him the good news I get a call from the lender..... the house appraised for less than we are buying it. But if we drop our 9k closing cost credit and pay it out of pocket - we can still close.
Not exactly sure where we are getting this money, but we are going to try and make it work... but there goes our 2 week Honeymoon in Italy

Please send happy thoughts before I have a breakdown!
