So I have planned vacations before, but only small ones when we knew exactly where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. I have never planned a big vacation, nor has FI, and we have no idea what to do for our honeymoon. We have thought about getting a cottage in Northern Michigan, going to a beach resort in Florida, or possibly doing an AI in Mexico, Jamaica, or Dominican Republic. We have no idea, and are on a bit of a budget (probably max $2000). We are thinking of working with a travel agent....
Here's my question: how do you go about working with travel agents? do you pay them? what do they do exactly? did you work with one? was it worth it?
