QOTD - 12/26

I completely forgot yesterday was Monday until I was ready to go to bed... so, the QOTD:

Any good holiday stories to share?

Re: QOTD - 12/26

  • My favorite holiday moment was listening to my dad talk about going to see movies when he was in the Navy. Turns out he is still bitter about the dime he spent to see "West Side Story." "Here I thought I was seeing a movie about hoods...but they wouldn't stop SINGING!"

  • Our exciting story was that my brother and his girlfriend got engaged on Christmas morning (I posted it as Secret Mission a few days ago).  On Friday night my mom, my dad, FI, and I met him at the jewelry store (we were on our way to a family party) to help him pick out a ring.  The ring is beautiful.  All day on Saturday FI was at the Patriots game so I went to my parents' to help bake and wrap.  My brother kept calling about how he was going to propose and sending pictures.  He ended up buying decorative shadow boxes.  She kept opening box after box getting annoyed only to find in the last box were some red roses with a single white rose and the ring placed around the rose.  It was draped in a ribbon that said "unforgettable christmas" that he got from the jewelry store.  She was surprised and super excited.
  • I don't really have any good stories, just more of a comment.

To go with today's TMI QOTD, random people in my family randomly became interested in what kind of underwear I wear.  My greatgrandma even tried to look once.

  • My grandfather is 88 and has dementia and has good days and bad days.  Christmas Eve was a really good day for him and he was very "with it" and told me how much he likes FI.  That was special :)

  • Wow that's awkward Megan lol. Mine with my family was great. Got the usual snarky comments from FMIL but none were too bad. Overall good holiday
  • Nothing in particular. I really enjoyed spending time with our families. <3

  • FI dad (as some of you may remember) had surgery to remove a lymph node...well we still haven't heard yet..he keeps saying "soon, soon!"  hopefully it isn't bad news but...

He placed $100 bills in all our boxes that we opened during Christmas and the last one was a "rules" note!  It was so cute.... we ended up getting $600 cash but the rules note says that it has to be spent on something for our home.. (not the wedding)!  just cute and fun!
