gift for the groom

Hi! I am at a total loss as to what to get for my lovely groom. He is a techie type of guy, and already has a LOT of man-toys. I already have a poem written that I am going to give him, but I also want to give him something besides that. So, I am debating between a kindle, or a nice watch. Both of which he doesnt have, What do ya'll think?
yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift! thats why its called "the present" BabyFruit Ticker

I'm in the same boat - he buys anything he really wants/needs. And B-pics are out of the question, he's one of the few men on the planet that would NOT appreciate that (unfortunately!). I would go for the watch - something he can keep forever. He'll outgrow the Kindle and it will end up in the discard pile along side the VCR and Cassette player...

We agreed to no gifts for eachother! We are already paying for the wedding and honeymoon out of pocket so that is the gift! :) However, I went and got some beautiful lingerie for our getaway so that's my gift to him!

Depends on your relationship and the feel you are going for... Kindle is more fun, "I'm thinking of the things you enjoy" (my uber techie FI wants one), watch is more serious/touching, "here is a momento of this day for the rest of your life." We are going to buy each other a painting we'll choose after the wedding... I think nothing says "home" like original art, and it would be nice to have something that moved from house-to-house with us. :)

Initially I thought Kindle cause I have one and it's the best thing on the planet!!! I got the most updated one and it works amazingly. However, for a wedding gift I think the engraved watch idea is good. It's more of a memento and even cooler if you have a son/grandson someday he could pass it down to, or something like that. Save the Kindle for a bday or Xmas. JMO

My mom got my dad a tie tack- doesn't wear given his job but still has it.  My friend got his wedding bad engraved as his gift.  Personally I steer away from electronic b/c they won't last.  Leaning towards a watch, art, or a guitar... jury is still out.  Any gift big or small will be from your heart and he will remember it forever.  Oh, have friends that got married in Hawaii and their gift to each other was matching tatoo and will repeat on their ten year.

ditto that for a wedding gift, a watch is better... however, i have the b&n nook and absolutely love it (better than the kindle, IMO)...save that for a bday or xmas as a fun gift.
