Bouquet thus far (PIP)

So here is my version of the pearl & crystal bouquet that Teep originally had posted:

(Poor computer camera quality because I left my digital cam at my parent's house..)

I still need to add more small pearls/crystals to fill in some little gaps, but otherwise the "bling" part is done.  Now onto the ribbon on the bottom.  I am already planning on adding material around the wood to make it softer and thicker, but what color ribbon should I wrap it with?

Here are the colors in the actual bouquet: white, silver, clear, fuchsia, light pink, and light greens.

What color would you go with?

Thanks :)

Re: Bouquet thus far (PIP)

  • Wow! It's beautiful! I'm actually making the same bouquets but with white, clear and ivory.

For yours, I would tie either a white or light pink ribbon.  Awesome job!

  • Thanks ladies.  Any thoughts on ribbon color?

franklissa, I started this back a few months ago.  (August, Septemberish?)  I saw a post from another knottie.  The original keeps the beads on a wire, but I wasn't liking the overall look of that so about a month ago I switched it to adding the beads to small pieces of wire and poking them into a styro ball.  It is very time-consuming and can be expensive depending on the beads you use, but it is the kind of thing that you can easily do while watching TV.  I would say you could probably get one done in under a month if you worked on it for a little bit everyday..just depends on the size you want.

I am making smaller ones for my BMs and they are going a lot quicker now that I know what I am doing!

  • SO PRETTY!! For the ribbon, I would go with green since it seems to be the least prominent color in the bouquet

  • i would go white, silver, or light pink.  i think green would just look like flower stems, which would also be pretty, but it's pretty obviously not flowers :)  it's beautiful shannon!

  • So pretty! I can't wait to see it when it is completed!
  • WOW gorgeous!!!  I'd stick with white/silver/light pink for the ribbon.  I feel like that's more bridey.  Then maybe you could do the BMs in green?

  • That is gorgeous! I would stick with white or light pink for yours and maybe do green for the BM's ones. Any color you do, it's still going to be gorgeous.
  • I think it looks beautiful!! I can't wait to see it when it's all finished!

I wanted a bigger one, so I used the same concept, but my pieces of wire are about an inch long which I inserted into a styrofoam ball.  It's definitely a fun and beautiful (IMO) project.
