OK - Here's how dress shopping went!! (sorry kinda long)

I need to start off by saying that the morning started off great because one of my bridesmaid was supposed to come with me, but then something came up and she told me she couldn't go, and then she surprised me by being at the place at my appointment time!  What a great friend!!  : )

That happiness was short lived though.  The first place I went to I tried on about 8 dresses and I wasn't wowed by any of them.  I was sooo sad.  Add to that the fact that I had always pictured myself getting married in a ball gown type dress...but my friend was telling me the trumpet style dresses look better on me.  So not only was I having to deal with the fact that none of the dresses wow'd me, but the image I had of my wedding dress was now also being shattered!!!

We left that place and went and had lunch before the next appt.  I'm so glad I went to the next shop because I fell in love with four...yes FOUR dresses!!!  Two are the traditional ball gown and two are a trumpet style (which I never liked in magazines but they do fit my body type).  I can easily narrow it down to 2 of them, one ball gown and one trumpet.

My mom loves both of them and told me she's glad it's not her that has to choose.  My aunt likes the ball gown and my friend likes the trumpet.  I don't know how I'm going to choose.  I think FI would like the more fitted dress, but I'm afraid to let go of the dream picture I have had in my head all these years.  I don't want to regret going against my dream, but I also don't want to regret going with it just because it was a preconceived idea of what I should look like.

Any suggestions?  Have any of you been in this situation?  If so, how did you decide?
