We're going to start trying about 2 years from now - so we'll have been married for a year and a half. That should be enough time to get us settled, purchase a home, and get both of us new cars (which we both desparately need).

We decided we would wait until our one year anniversary. By that time I will be 31 and he will be 33 and we don't want to wait too long to have kids.

Well I have a child, but I thought I'd post anyway. I am going off BC in January. We are hoping for a honeymoon baby, but we arent going to be all the crazy stuff associated with "trying". We are just going to be happy whenever it happens!

We have talked about having at least 1 by the age of 30, which would mean we will probably start trying a year and a half to two years after we get married.  As long as we have a home that we own and are comfortable with our jobs than I think it will be okay to start "trying."

Sometime between our one and two year wedding anniversaries I'm going to go off BC. FI wants our kids to be born early in the year (something about being bigger and smarter than kids born later in the year), so depending on when I go off of it, our first one should be born in either early 2014 or early 2015. If it's 2015, I'll be 27 and he'll be 29. We're planning on 3 kids. He wants at least 2 boys, so if we only have one by the time we have 3 kids, we might try again. If we have none, we will definitely try again. If we have all boys he doesn't care because women in his family are nightmares to deal with. I'd kind of like a girl, though...

When we start trying will depend on how we are doing career-wise and financially. We're hoping to have most, if not all of my student loans paid back by the time we have kids (most meaning just a few more payments left).

Probably about 5 years. I'm 23 and he's 24. We just bought a house and both have new cars. I want to wait until my car is paid off, about 3 years from now, and get a decent amount of equity into the house. I would like to stay home with the children.

We would like to start trying 1.5-2 years after getting married. We want to make sure we're both financially and emotionally ready to have a child.

We will be trying very quickly after the wedding! I'd like to be pregnant by this time next year!! Of course we will have to see what is in store for us.

I'm graduating with my bachelor's in May and FI will get his in about 2 years. We're both planning on going to grad school and we're not very settled right now. We'd like to try to get a house and definitely at least have stable jobs before we start trying. Long story short: at least four years after the wedding.

We would love to have one right away. We are hoping for a HM baby. We are not going to try, but whatever happens, happens. I will go off BC around April, so we will see!

I want my first before I'm 30 as well and I'll be 25 when we get married.  We've talked about TTC around our 2.5 - 3 year anniversary.  We definitely want to enjoy married life without kids and we want to be more financially stable before having to provide for other human beings.

Our plan is to wait at least 2 years after we're married. FI wants to be done making babies by the time he's 30. He's 26 right now.

TBH, he kinda freaked me out (in a cute way) the other night. We were walking around this Christmas festival so he could take pictures for the paper and there were pictures of each grade at the school on a board with their high school graduation year. Somehow that led to a comment about how in one of those years, if we have a kid by the time he's 28, they'll be 11.

The only thing that jumped out at me was "That's two years from now".

So far and yet so close.

I'd like to have one by the time I'm 30, but we're planning to adopt rather than have biological children. I've got a year and a half left of my MA, and then I might want to go for my PhD, but academia isn't a terrible field for having kids...there's definitely some flexibility. I have a couple of friends who have had kids while in grad school, or teaching at a university.

We really want to take some big trips before we have kids: Hawaii (Where Fi grew up), DR, and Italy. Once we do that we are going to start trying, proably around 2 yrs after we get married.

We're the opposite! FI isn't quite ready and I want to start trying soon after the wedding/honeymoon. I love kids and I want to have them younger so that I'm not ancient when they graduate from high school.

Hopefully 1 by the time I'm 30 so that gives us 3.5 years after we marry.

We're going to wait 3-4 years before we start trying.  However, I have PCOS so it may take a while.
