My fiance and I have been engaged without a ring for a couple of months. However, only our parents knew. We did not want to make it public until I had an engagement ring. Well....I was finally able to annouce our engagement on July 4th on our trip to the Ozarks!
My fiance was worried that I would not be surprised with the ring since I knew it was coming in the near future. However, I was definitely surprised-- I didn't think the ring was finished with being sized yet.
We were in the lake of the Ozarks with his family on vacation. We left the condo and were heading to the boat to go to a restaurant on the lake. As I was walking on the deck, Ethan tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around. He was down on one knee with the ring and had the biggest smile on his face. Tears started forming in my eyes and he asked if I would marry him. Of course I said yes!
Now for a little back story...
We arrived to the Ozarks on July 3rd with his parents, two sisters and his brother-in-law. We all picked which rooms we would stay in and began to unpack. Ethan had unpacked all of his things quickly because they were leaving to go to the store for groceries. His mom and one of his sisters and I stayed home to organize things while they shopped. I then went up to our room and unpacked my things but noticed Ethan's bag of shoes needed unpacked. I then began unpacking them when I noticed a new pair of shoes I didn't know Ethan had. I called his sister up to the room and was so confused about how I hadn't seen these (we live together). Little did I know, the ring box was in one of the shoes! Jenna (his sister) grabbed them from me and was trying to push the ring further into the toe of the shoe. I had no idea! I guess she then called Ethan freaking out, thinking I knew the ring was in there. Ethan thought the whole surprise was down the drain right then and there. (He bought the shoes when he picked up my ring and didn't want me to know about it!) I was so close to ruining it, I'm glad I didn't!!
Here's my ring...It has a princess cut diamond in the middle with a halo around it and diamonds on the bands.
