My table linens -remember how stressed i was over this?

I went and visited with the florist last weekend to look at more linen options. I was not in love with my mock set up and neither was my fiance and nor was the florist. She was trying to give me what I wanted, but I wanted didn't really look that great. I was super nervous because her and my fiance took over the trial run and I felt like I wasn't getting what I wanted. They chose green as a table linen and since we were only in her little store the options were slim pickings and I left feeling more confused than ever. I posted about this previously...

Moving on, I decided to go with green linens and I'm having no regrets! She picked out this beautiful, light sage linen with a slightly darker napkin and chair sash. we will be bringing in the pinks with our flowers. She practically begged me to trust in her. I have seen her work before and it's fabulous. This isn't the best picture, but I thought I would share.

I would love to see other people's table linens and items too! So, feel free to share!

  • I think it looks very elegant :)
  • I think I am one of the odd balls who didn't really care about linens. We are using white table linens that go all the way to the floor and the napkins are ivory. I was worried they would clash but they actually compliment each other really well. I don't have any pics, sorry.

  • That looks great, nice choice!  We're just using the white linens our venue provides.

  • Here is a picture of what the tables will look like. Could not really find any table linens we liked but found material. Mom the great seamstress she is made the table lenins. The white vases will hold blue cornflowers and the mason jars will hold the daisies.  (ignore the the Matchbox cars. mom set the table up in what used to be my brothers room)

  • That's going to look great, g2soccer! You also have a green linen too! :)

I keep telling myself that we should have went with just the white linens provided. I think they can be done up very beautifully as well.
  • thanks sweet :)

I really like how your table is set up. I do agree it is hard to find green linens that actually look good.

  • We are also using white linens that our venue provides, but we are doing fuchsia table runners and fuchsia chair sashes as well.
  • Ugh linens.

I seriously am so over them. We've spent HOURS looking at them. I think I've finally decided on a peach...I'll post pictures when I get some. Meh. They're so annoying. We went this past Saturday with my mom and brother and I thought my brother was going to kill me because we were there for an hour and a half.
  • We are just using the white linens that the venue provides, but we will have navy blue napkins.  I don't have a photo though sorry!

I like the green you picked out...very subtle and pretty!

That's how I was feeling and I'm still nervous that I am making a mistake, but I think I will probably feel that way until the day of.

Has you florist given you any guidance or direction?

I think peach will look gorgeous.
  • OP love the linens!! I like it the hue you're going with though I'm a big fan of most greens:-)

@G2Soccer- Love the look you're going for!

  • Pretty! We are just using white tablecloths, with royal blue napkins to tie in our color.

  • I'm doing half of my tables with white table cloths and half with black and doing a damask overlay that my bridesmaid and I have been slowly making for all the tables. Here is the basic idea with white:

The centerpieces will have something around them, not sure what yet.

  • Melissa- I think it will look great!

We are buying white linens, using a fuchsia runner and I am thinking we will buy cloth napkins too. I can't decide what color I am going to do those. I may go with light pink. We are doing fuchsia and tangerine orange, but they don't make any tangerine napkins, so I am going with mostly orange flowers in the ceterpieces and I don't want the napkins to clash. Will light pink look okay? I don't want white because we are doing a buffet and need some more color on the tables.

  • Melissa, I love them...so pretty! We're doing a combo of light pink cotton and (hopefully) ivory ribbon taffeta.

I would say go with fuschia napkins and put an orange tie around them or put an orange flower on the top.  Sort of like this:
    <img id="pinCloseupImage" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/252272016596457508_mzYEMkjI_c.jpg" alt="Pinned Image" />

Or add something orange at the place setting to tie it all in. I am really now the one to ask though!

<div>I haven't talked to them about them yet. I'm going to bring a sample to our next appointment so we can work with that to make things match. We're already planning on using pinks, peaches, and whites/creams so I just want to make sure it looks good.</div><div>
</div><div>The other good thing about the peach for us is that they're a cotton and go well with some other things we're using...and they're like $13 a linen as opposed to the $20/$25 the silk dupioni are, so it'll save us $200+.</div><div>
    </div><div>
</div><div>And FWIW, I think that green will look gorgeous with what you're doing!</div>
  • Thanks Melissa! I am worried about doing fuchsia runners and napkins though, becuase I would get them from two different companies. They wouldn't match. :(
