Hey everyone! My mom is hosting an "enagement party" for me in June, and I was wondering how many of you ladies have had one? I have never been to one, and when I told my mom it wasn't necessary she said, "Well, that's just what we do." (I have no clue who "we" are). I finally agreed to let her do it because my family has only met his father, but not the rest of his family and I think this would be the perfect opportunity to bring the two families together.
My question is what normally takes place at an engagement party? Is there a gift exchange, because honestly I don't want people to bring gifts and think I am selfish. Any advice would be wonderful!
