Different nail question (than yesterday)

Hi ladies,

 So my adopted mom got me a French Manicure today with Tips as a "thank you" for taking her shopping today. Anyways, I am trying to get used to them, they are just a bit long.  

Is there a way to shorten them? I was thinking of using a nail file, but I wasn't sure.

I think I would just leave them or see if the salon would make them a little shorter if you went back in. I don't know much about nails though. Maybe someone has better advice?

You can file them, but then I would suggest touching up the ends of your nails with clear nail polish so that they don't split and the nail polish doesn't peel off.  Just be very careful.

I used to shorted my nails as they grew out so I didn't have to go back to the nail salon as often, but I had acrylic french nails on then.  Make sure you don't file the top of the nail though...it will take the french part off if it was airbrushed or painted on.

If they are pre-bought ones from the store you can't really do much but if you went to a salon have them shorten them
