~~Poll:Question of the day~~

If your child committed a crime or murdered your spouse, would you testify against them?

I believe my fear of God's wrath may be stronger than my need to protect my murderous child. If P is putting a Mike Tyson beating on me or Don, then my child would prevail anyway as it's clearly self defense. If Don murders, steals, whatever just because he's a bad seed...I can't protect him. At Judgment Day we have to answer for our own sins...and lying to cover his behind is a sin. I can only testify to what I know, and when you're sworn in, you swear to tell the truth. God knows the truth.

You know that's really tough. I sincerely do not believe we never know until a situation arises with 100% certainity what we would do. It's easier to think about it and say things when you are not going through it in my personal opinion. For me personally at this time I would say if I had actual proof then Yes, I would. Even, though I carried that child for 9 months, and gave birth to them. On the flip side though, It would also depend on the reason. If it was done in self-defense and I had actual proof then I would NEVER testify against them.

Just thinking about my son doing anything wrong is tearing me up inside, I'm not sure how I would react or what I would or would not do...

Yes, I would.I know it sounds cold, but I plan to teach my children right from wrong. If they do wrong, they have to live with the consequences. If I know something in the case, it's my responsibility to the family or person that was hurt, to tell the truth.

Yes. If it was self defense then I'd have no problem testifying because they should get acquitted. If it's because they did something wrong-still yes. I hope I raise them better so they won't do something wrong but I believe in cause and effect. You committed a crime-the effect is you go to jail. And I wouldn't be mortgaging my house to bail you out either!

whoa!! that is so tough? Would I be able to plead the fifth? lol

It would completely depend on the situation. My first reaction would be to defend them. It would also depend on the crime. I don't think I could ever testify against them but I can't say I'd hide what they did either. No matter what I'd support them in whatever way I could and pray for some serious guidance.
