Triflling BM excuse

**Excuse me while I vent a little** Ok, so I asked one of my friends of about a year and a half if she would be in my wedding. She said "yes". I asked her agin casully a few months later as I was preparing to buy their dresses,  just to be sure she was going to do it. And again she said "yes". I brought all the BM's dresses as they agreed to pay me back in a given time. Well that time rolled around and she didn't pay and hasn't called me to let me know what was going on. So I decided to see what was up and she said "she just didn't have that kinda money right now" (the dresses were only $70.00 from JCpenny and they had two months to get me the money.) Well I told her that was cool and if she needed more time that would be fine. Well, on day at a meeting she comes to me and said i'm going to call you this weekend so I can give you the money for the dress. Well I never heard form her that weekend (that was because she jumped up and took a trip out of town which i'm sure she spent well over $70.00 to get there an back)About a week or two after that she TEXTED and said, "i just got the word that I got a teaching position so i'm gonig to decline on the bridesmaid position because I need that $70.00 to buy stuff for my classroom. But If you need me to do anythig for you let me know" ( not to mention that she has posted on her facebook "Vages here I come in 1 week"LOL! I'm not mad because she doesn't want to be in it but to carry out this process like that and them give me a lame excuse...ridiculous!

I knew before I finished reading your post that she was either going to bailed out on you or ask for more time to pay for her dress...either way, look at it as a blessing...and K.I.M. (keep it moving)...people show their true selves when it comes to weddings and funerals...it's life and it sucks but it's the truth...I commend you for taking the high road and laughing it off...personally I would not ask her to do a damn thang (yes thang) for me but I would send her invitation to the wedding and again K.I.M....

Shameful! She has no couth. Alf is being nice sending her an invite. I'd 'assume' she was taking another trip to Vegas when the wedding rolls around. Or maybe taking her students on a field trip or something. I too applaude u for just laughing it off and KIM!

Wow! I am with Alf, when it comes to coloreds, weddings and funerals, you will normally get the real them. Like the other ppr's, I would K.I.M. and like Cat said assume that her a$$ took a trip with her class or something when your wedding roles around. I too commend you for not even showing to her that it phased you. Keep planning your wedding. There's is always  more than one way to skin a cat, literally.

That was messed up.. wow.. I wouldn't invite her to nothin.. she might think she have to spend a dolla so she probably wouldn't come anyway!

I wouldn't invite her to the wedding.  It's $70 and apparently she's not as strapped for cash as she's making out.  The least she could do is reimburse you for the $70 you spent.

She lives with her parents, works for and gets paid from their family daycare businss, and she drives a new BMW. Even if she was hurting for money she could have saved $20 a week to pay for it! I don't like it when people try to play me like i'm stupid.
